Central stories museum (story!)

We have been learning about gold this term. At the central stories museum, we did a treasure hunt and also we learned about Russel Clarke. Here is a story that  Russel Clarke painted
Scotty and Billy were down in the town, they'd heard a
strong rumour, that gold had been found.
"Keep your ears open, My bonnie wee hound," said
Scotty to Billy, "we'll both hang around.''
''You're right,'' shouted Scotty, ''The word is now out
There'll be great confusion, There'll be a rout.'' ''Och
aye,'' howled wee Billy,'' so let's make a start.'' The
town has gone crazy, No horses, No cradles, No
whiskey, No stout, not even scotch oats or haggis
                                         about.''

''We'll follow the crowd, we'll go with the flow,
we'll take up the challenge, wherever they go.''
''Och aye,'' panted Billy, '' I'll do as you say, but I
canna see trees, to sniff on this way.'' ''Whe're up
there,'' said scotty, ''whe're keeping the pace, with
Irish and british and folk of all race.'' ''From all walks
of life, the scum and the best, all scrambling for gold,
                                        thats everyones quest.''

''Och aye,'' wheezed Billy, ''I'm losing my breath,
                                         It's a hard road, I need a rest.'' ''Eureka! we've found
it!'' ''An angel was sent.'' ''Gabriel from heaven Made
earthly descent.'' ''Gabriel the angel appeared on this
day, it must have been destined that here we would stay.''
''Och aye,'' sneered wee Billy, ''Have it your way,
But I bet that st Andrew had plenty to say.''

He hauled out the gravel, He hauled out the stone,
''I'd much rather dig up a great juicy bone.''

The miners are leaving, not many stay,
and those that are left, have strange
Eastern ways. Darkness is falling, three
strangers approached, '' hoots mon,'' muttered
Scotty, ''I think I see ghosts.''
Morning approaches, the brave and strong, race
over the mountains, singing Bonnie Scotch songs.
''By yon bonnie banks, and by yon bonnie braes,
We knew that we'd make it one bright, sunny day.''

And then it was sighted, A rainbow, no less, A bow
of all colours, Appeared in the west. at its end
something sparkled, at its end something glowed,
it's gold! shouted scotty, ''The end of the road.''

"Och aye", sighed wee Billy, "Now, can we go home?"
"I can't keep my mind off that big juicy bone",
Triumphant and happy, they headed to town.
Not thinking of danger, They'd not heard a sound.
But lurking in shadow, and hidden well back,
Were evil bushrangers, About to attack.

What makes CPS the best!!!!

On Friday the 1st of June we had a assembly it was based on what makes CPS the best, but really, we all thought the people stand out above all .This assembly was made out of role plays about some of the things we thought made CPS the best, this included ICT, leadership roles, lunchtime activities and loads more.

Also we thought of a way to make everyone be respectful and quiet. We did this by giving out a special miniature trophy for the class who stayed quiet throughout assembly, sat quietly and up straight, made eye contact and put their hand up instead of yelling out.The class that won the challenge was Rm 9  well done everyone who tried.
Georgia Jeffery and Bethany Johnston looking amazed at what
computers can do!!!
Molly Dennison and Sara Henderson showing
off their Challenge Chasers!!!

 Meg Huffadine and Elena Mcfadgen
